Repainting Brake Torque Arm

So I was putting a new chain and sprocket set on a couple of weeks ago and when doing so I noticed the brake torque arm was looking a bit tatty (paint peeling off on the inside and starting to rust). I gave it a clean and a light spray with ACF-50 but ideally I'd want to repaint it. Do I need any kind of special paint for this or can I just use some sort of waterproof metal paint?

Ghetto style?
Smooth silver hammerite.
Degrease first..I used brake and clutch cleaner.

Or do it properly and remove it and get it powder coated.

Do you need it doing insta-now or can you do without it for a week?

You can get it blasted and powder coated like Howling Terror says for about a tenner. I've just been pricing up the blast n' powder coat job on my 400/4 and the cheapest I've seen is £8.50 from this lot:

They even do a courier service so no need to drop it off or have additional hassle.

Can't vouch for them as I haven't used them, but powdercoating it will last longer than paint - depends on how good your spraying is, of course but it will probably look a lot better too. (That's based on my spraying being crap).
