bad luck.

which part did u fail on? Multiple choice or Hazard Perception? I've heard of people failing on the hazard perception if they have been driving or riding for a while as we tend to click before the computer thinks we should.

book yourself in to do it again

all the best

I read the theory book 6 times before finally going for the test and passed it with flying colours!

They do like to throw in questions designed to catch you off gaurd.... so you have to watch out for them !

and riding on the road for that long shurlyis enough practice for hazard perseption.
i never failed it once at home,
ive got it booked for a week on thursday.

I think you'll like these sites because it provides practical help to pass a test with test question and examples.

Just because you didnt pass it first time it doesnt make you a shit rider! Go for your lesson and dont mention it if you feel uncomfortable saying so. You will get it next time.

Bad luck mate! Sad

The advise I was given by the test centre was not to click on every possible hazard just the immediate hazard's. He actually said people clicked on trees? Question - only a hazard if it's falling into the road, eh? Laughing

Too many clicks and they'll not mark you at all for that piece of film/test.

Don't let failing the theory spoil the practical/fun part of learning.

My turn tomorrow, i'm more worried about multiple choice than hazard perception, I have found all the practice ones a breeze.

Haven't you got to pass your CBT test before sitting the theory and here's the proof from DVLA's homepage

from 1 February 2001

After 1 February 2001 when you successfully complete CBT you will get a Certificate of Completion (DL 196) which will be valid for 2 years. Certificates issued prior to that date will be valid for 3 years. Keep your CBT certificate safe because you will need it when you apply for and take your moped or motorcycle theory test.

You will also need it when you apply for and take your moped or motorcycle accompanied test, and you may need to show it to the police if required.

hazard perception is shit! It took me 2 times to get it, full marks on the multiple choice each time. Problem is your not in the right frame of mind for spotting hazards as your brain knows your sitting at a computer not on a bike. Also the test is flawed! you can see and click a hazard before the computer thinks you should be able to!!

If it's any consolation I failed my theory twice on Hazard Perception. 35/35 in the questions every time, then got 43/44 next time got 42/44 then the time I passed I got 53. Look on eBay for "Roadsense DVD" it shows you what you should be clicking for and helped me a lot. Worst thing is, I've to do another one for the car in a few months! Sad

Odd, I did my theory test before I did my CBT. I don't know anyone who has been asked for it. What about people on these intensive course (e.g. Day one = CBT, Day Three/Five = Test). Probably a typo.

Oh yeah, because no-one at the Department of Transport would have thought of maybe testing the system using anything other than complete novices would they.

I reckon you should be able to spell theory before being tested on it. Wink

You pleb. But seriously, if you didn't get scored for 3 questions then you might have clicked too many times for those questions. The computer thinks you're clicking randomly and scores you as nothing.
