Hi,

I'm looking for a laundry shop that can wash the gore tex motorcycle gloves professionally.

I keep washing them (proper instructions), drying, even using ozone and they constantly smell. Can't get rid of the smell possibly due to very long drying time.

Also have heated gloves which i've never washed obviously but need ideas how to wash them inside as smell of sweat horribly.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Do some brands of gloves have a massive odour problem? Not had any issues with HG or IXS goretex gloves. My Held summer gloves smell strongly of leather. I'm reluctant to try other brands after some issues with trainers.

Years ago i used to work in the bike department of a sports shop. This mostly meant covering Golf and Footwear. Nike trainers has a horrendous reputation for stinking. We were supposed to wear shoes that were sold in store to work. I quickly learnt that some specifc models of trainers had massive odour problems. We weren't allowed to admit this. I think my navy canvas pumps with the big tick on were the worst.

How do you store your gloves? Mine hang beneath my helmet shelf or sit on my helmet shelf in a room with good airflow. From experiences with reenactment leatherwork, in a box or drawer in garage, shed, coal room or other heated area is a recipe for manky leather. Mildew and suchlike grows more readily on the inside faces.

I shove my gloves inside my helmet, they get no airing unless they're wet from rain.

I've not had stinky gloves since I read a post a few years back that suggested stinky gloves were caused by having too hot hands, since then I've only put my heated grips on with winter gloves if it's really properly cold, if my hands stick to the liners when removing gloves then I know they've been too hot.

If you're a manky bastirt and don't wash your hands after shitting, pishing, eating, w*nking, frigging and etc. then your mittens are bound to smell of life.
Wash your hands from time to time.
It may be possible to dowse the hoowurs in isopropyl/cheap wodka and let them dry out when the rinky-dink gets bad. Or if really bad dowse and ignite.

+1 on garment construction. It may depend o what material is used as wadding etc. Or where the hide was cured.
