The previous owner of my CBR changed the rear sprocket from 43 to 45 teeth, which by my calculations means 62.8mph on the speedo is actually 60mph (I know the speedo is always incorrect anyway). While the difference of +4.6% isn't really an issue when riding, my odometer is racking up more miles than the bike is doing, thus lowering its resale value. Is it worth trying to find a speedo healer?

I would personally wait until the chain and sprockets need replacing and go back to stock.

Another thing to consider... it's an old bike.
approx £1500 value when you go to sell it, the % of over reading on the odo aint really gonna impact the value as much as you think.

Thanks. Apparently it increased the acceleration somewhat but I've no real experience to quantify it

Where is the speedo driven from?
Front wheel or gearbox?
