short term insurance

Hi, bit of a long shot but does anyone know of any short term bike insurers who will insure a 18 year old with provisional license and CBT , the reason i ask this is because i have a rs 50 sat at home and i am having difficulty selling for a decent price without having a mot on it so i want to be able to just take it in for a mot but dont want to be taking out a whole years insurance just for one day .

Someone did post of a co that did 3 months ins.

But cost that against cost of getting a garage to co and pick it up for MOT.

Also be wary of any nasty little clauses about the cover being invalid if it doesn't have an MOT. Yes, I know they specifically mention taking bikes for an MOT, but that's marketing, not truth.

right, i will see what that company says when i get chance,think thats who i had my dead bike insured with. If thats too expensive i will just have to see if the garage does collection .

Some MOT centres will be able to collect the bike for you, probably way cheaper than insuring it for a day

I did this when I sold my 125. Insured it, took it to the garage, picked it up again and then cancelled the insurance. I think they charged me £15 for the pleasure of it.

Don't think I am gonna be pushing it there with the distance that the center is from me. Most likely thing by the sounds of things is to give them a call and see what they want to come and pick up/return

Bearing mind that it's a 16 year old bike, and that your target market is poverty-spec 16 year olds.

I'd do the sums carefully, based on what they're actually selling for. That's not the same as what people are asking for them.
