I don't know the bike, so I don't know if it's a high-torque area (but doubt it).

Could you choose to buy A4 stainless dome nuts instead of A2?
A4 (Marine Grade) steel may be more brittle but shouldn't rust.

In fact, again depending on use, Brass dome nuts would be even better (as pointed out to me recently from BCF when discussing exhaust header nuts).

EDIT:
Sorry, missed the "cylinder head" bit. I'd probably chance my arm with A4.

EDIT2:
Which don't seem to exist anywhere (not flanged dome in A4 anyway).

you should know to put this in the workshop Folded arms

My exhaust had domed nuts on them but replaced with normal nuts and is fine, no rust.

Dome nuts have a huge variety of uses. From being used for it's aesthetics as a cover for threaded rods and as caps for machine screws in architectural metalwork. To being used in the car modification business as an alternative to manufacturer supplied nuts and fixings. In stock Stainless Steel, BZP and Galvanised Dome Nuts

Be careful putting SS nuts on CS threads, they can corrode on so hard that you will never remove them!
