So, since you aren't a complete lard arse like me, you should be able to cruise at about 50-55. If I were to get on one, I'd guess it's top speed would be 55 Smile

55-60 cruising, 65 top. They will take it for long periods even though it sounds as if they are about to die all the time

When you pass your test a CB 250 could be in order just that little bit quicker that a Cg, but just as reilable and cheap as chips to insure aswell

I got a whole 65mph out of my '82 CG125, it would happily cruise around at 50-55 with me (11st) and returned a rather pleasent 100mpg or so.

a cg would be fine for a 50 mile trip, comfortable and easy to ride.

i agree, 65 is probably the most you'd get.

My mates knackered old brazilian cg (not sure of the year) will do just a shade under 70mph.

It must be about 18 years old. so 85-86

THe only way a Cg125 will do 85 mph is by dropping it off a cliff

Nothing wrong with the cbr125 as a learner bike. It will do 75mph comfortably.

What happened to your DNA125?

Is it working yet or have you sold it on to someone else?

Sounds right. The old GS was configured pretty much spot on, but the newer ones are a bit optimistic. When mine was saying 60 my mates 2000 GS would be saying 65. So either mine was going faster than indicated (HA!!) or his was going slower.
