My experiences:

They are much more fun on a track, rather than in a car park.

Get yourself to a local track and hire one to get an idea of what it's like. Expect to fall off a lot and get pissed all over by ten year old kids, but have a lot of fun.

Buying one, I'd go for a decent one (not a cheap chinese one); those that buy cheap ones and use them in car parks seem to get bored quite quickly.
Also, a lot more of the cheap chinese ones seem to go wrong soon after they are bought.

Have a look at www.minimotoclub.com/vb/ for places to ride near you, before going and buying one go to a local track and hire one there to see what its like.

Pick up a good second hand one rather than a cheap new one, the cheap ones are lots slower, parts are much harder to get hold of and will piss you off when you take it on a minimoto track and everyones bikes are lots faster than yours. The cheap ones are fine if you want it for riding round a carpark but you'll find riding it on a track lots better.

Fun, but they're bloody tiny things Baz Shocked

Tried them at the NEC and had cramp in my legs before ten minutes were up, just from contorting myself enough to keep my feet on the pegs Exclamation
