Water pump shaft

Hi there I have took my casing off to get to my water pump took the shaft out so I can replace seals shaft also bearings, I need to get the cog off my old shaft on to my new one any ideas on how I do this? Thanks! Also does this bit of metal in the casing have to come out? Pictures are attached

you will probably have to press it shaft out with the cog attached by the looks of it. Looks like there is room to get a plate between the bearings and the cog.

A picture of the cog end would help so we can see how the cog is fixed to the shaft.

In the last pic, is that a tiny grub screw in the centre?

Sorry, can't see the offending bit of metal in casing.

Photos really help but you could do with a camera with a macro function, that way you can see the detail. You can pick them up for pennies on eBay, 1mp is enough, as long as it has a macro function

can you unscrew the center part in the last pic, or is it fixed? If its fixed you will need to press the shaft out of the bearings form the other side using a couple of plates under the bearings. If its can be unscrewed, then unscrew it, and the rest should be obvious
