I see that Wee Nicky Sturgeon has discovered that the principle of ScootchNat MPs not voting on English matters doesn't matter as much as the principle of sticking one up the Tories.

It's hard for us up here to grasp that you lot still live in some medieval la-la-land where Sunday is Special. Granted we've got a few Outer Caledonian shops and petrol stations that slack off on Sundays, and supermarkets might open an hour or so later, but that's about it.

What's it like living in 1957?

Hate Sunday trading shops are never open when you need them, at least the corner shop gets my beer business at some point.

Annoying though when you start a diy thing and need something from b and q, having to wait till Monday am.

Lets the market decide, if people want to go to shops on sundays, they will, if they don't the shops will stay as the normal times are

I don't have a problem with current Sunday trading hours.
If peeps can't cope with 24 hours worth of shopping throughout the week and 6 hours of trading on Sundays then it's a pretty sad affair.
Just sayin'.

They won't. The SNP only get about 50% of the votes (i.e not enough) and many of them only vote SNP because it means special treatment for Scotland at the expense of people in England, but don't actually support full independence. Full independence means an end to the special treatment.

The SNP like to complain about "project fear", but it's really project fact. Would you want to share a currency with a country run by the SNP? This is a country that suggested it could want extreme borrowing and socialism and worst of all even suggested it might shirk it's national debts. An economy heavily dependent on highly fluctuating oil and gas prices, and state employment. It's a bit like joining a southern European Eurozone.

I'm sort of on the fence on this. On the one hand we do need all the worker protections we can get with these open borders and the labour market being hugely tilted towards the employer. However it's also quite annoying not being able to get things after 4pm on a Sunday, though most of us could just have got the things on Saturday Laughing

But this isn't really about Sunday trading, it's about the Scottish Nazi Party. We should help the SNP a bit by closing the terrible Trident submarine base and moving it, and it's terrible submarines, and the terrible 6000 jobs to England.

Does she think that if she forces a general election, the SNP will get more MPs?

SNP won 56 of the 59 seats. Can't really get much higher.

I doubt it.

This is no big deal, it really is just her currying favour with the revolting masses by kicking the Tories up the arse. The actual issue is irrelevant to her.

Nae Poll Tax! Thatcher stole the weans' milk!

Hi

Maybe the solution is that the tories and labour vote to harmonise sunday trading laws between England and Scotland to protect workers rights.......

All the best

Rumour I heard was that they're planning on running in Wales.

Hypocritical racist twats. I hate Sturgeon and the puppet master with a passion.

I was in Scootland the other week and the TV was on (yes, they even have TVs in Scotland now) and Salmond happened to be on BBC news ostensibly being interviewed about EU in/out. He managed to answer any question, even "What are you having for tea" or "Do you like Adele" with some "they'll never take our freedom" rant. And I looked out of the window and thought, what are these nice people in this nice country doing letting this dickhead go on the TV to talk for them? He's like a Spitting Image caricature of himself.

"What do you want Alex?"
"I want tax breaks for the Scottish to make up for the years of tyranny living under Westminster PMs only some of whom were Scottish."
"No, I mean Stella or Becks?"
"Pint of haggis for me."

If you catch him inside the city walls of York after dark, you're welcome to put an arrow in him.

He is a cheery wee troll, mind. I despise him on a personal and political level, but I can't help but grin at his cheeky antics. Whit a scamp.

More accurate, I suppose, would be "Rumour I'm trying to start..."

I don't know about anybody else, but I've signed out of the European Working Time Directive and I'm more than happy to work a 12 hour shift on a Sunday. Mostly because I get paid double time, rather than the usual time-and-a-half for the rest of the overtime I do.
Signing out has also allowed me to volunteer for 60 hours next week, which is slightly above my contracted 39 hours.

This is the second time I've read it today, so that's confirmation.

I am surprised that they haven't buddied up more as some Celtic Fringe supergroup, since they're both essentially oldLabour / communist regressives wrapped in an "English Oot, Look You" flag.
