By that I mean back box and link pipe ? (Fuel Exhaust)

If so, what is the procedure of applying it? I have the aerosol acf50

Thanks.

ACF50 is no good for the exhaust system, the ACF50 will burn and go up in smoke if you get it on the exhaust or the pipes.

Yes it can.

You would normally apply it by squirting a little onto the exhaust then wiping it about with a soft cloth. A very thin coating is enough. Spray directly into nooks and crannies you can't wipe it into. Keep the cloth in a ziplock bag and use it to wipe stuff over, add more ACF to it as necessary

Use ACF-50 anywhere, except the brakes, on your bike including the engine and exhaust (will smoke on first start and burn off down pipes but still slows down corrosion process).

I was going by experience, albeit limited, rather than what the ACF50 website says.

I used to apply ACF50 on my stainless can and stainless downpipes on every wash applying it with a microfiber cloth. Despite this, the stainless steel downpipes have corroded to the point it resembles rusted non-stainless steel though the exhaust can still looks brand new.

That was a year ago and since then, I haven't applied ACF50 to any exhaust component after realising it just burns off. I still wash the bike and apply ACF50 elsewhere, yet the downpipes still look like they've rusted over and the can is still spotless.

I honestly think applying ACF50 to the exhaust system, only for it to burn off, is a waste of time and ACF50. While the advice on the ACF50 website suggests it does slow down corrosion, I don't think it makes a significant difference if at all.

I think there was some theory that spraying it on the pipes will allow it to atomize and waft into hidden areas. Sounds like a load of chuff to me to be honest.

I've been using ACF50 for quite a few years through winters now and I can definitively say, it ain't worth putting on downpipes. Brilliant on everything else though, does a proper job.

If you're storing a bike, that's a different matter. Get 'em lathered up good n proper, but for day to day use? Nah, does feck all.

Your headers won't be rusty, just discoloured from the heat.
Get some Autosol and some long strips of cloth/rags. Wrap the cloth strip around a pipe 360deg and use some elbow grease. Your headers will come up all shiny and new after half hours work.

The header pipes probably get too hot, collector boxes and final pipe might well be worth doing especially the bits that are inaccessible and hard to clean salt off.

I use it knowing that much, if not all, will burn off, but where it does seem to be effective is on the EXUP box on the Fazer. Previous ones have got very rusty, even with WD40 wiped on liberally, but ACF seems to have kept this one rust free, although admittedly, it doesn't get a lot of use in winter.
