Oldsters may remember him as 'Sonic', a well respected journo for Superbike, TWO and other bike mags. I met him once at the EMAP Kettering office - he seemed a fair-minded sensible bloke with his feet on the ground. He quit the bike press and became a war photographer but has spent much of his new career as a prisoner. Apparently he was tortured after an escape attempt.
