The clutch on my CG is making scraping noises in first when the engine is cold, so I'd like to get it off to have a look at it. My question is: do I need to drop the oil first, or if I leave the bike to sit for a day will the level in the sump be low enough that I can get the clutch cover off without oil pouring out?

you'll need a special tool to fully remove the clutch! costs about £12 on ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CG-125-Clutch-Nut-Socket-Tool-/120987089261?hash=item1c2b64796d:m:mAqxMB8OXoenfJ3berCn7Cg

can find it cheaper

Yep, I know. My Haynes suggests making one out of a bit of pipe, but I think I'll get a proper socket.
