Nikwax. Just follow the instructions.
If you spend a couple of quid extra on the re-proofer, you can save hundreds on Boretex and get a much better result.

OK rather than slating the spammer, I'll post a serious response....

I've had my jacket for about 4 years and it's been washed twice in that time. Both times I've just taken the armour out, bunged it in the washing machine then threw it in the dryer (on high heat) for an hour or so and hasn't done it any harm:

I just used to put the hose in them and swish around for a while, then put them on a hanger in the garage to dry slowly.
I used to put crumpled up newspaper in them stop two sides touching and making a damp spot.
When they were 99% dry, I would give them a feed with leather treatment.
I knew someone who rode horses and they gave me the stuff they put on saddles, that and furniture (beeswax) polish.

Worked for me Thumbs Up my old leather bike trousers lasted years!
Mind you I only cleaned them a few times.
