Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could tell me if the CDI from a JC20 (model: CI572) will fit onto a JC22?

The JC22 is a swiss import with a CI626a CDI fitted currently.

Is there going to be some wires needing swapping around or will it just plug and play?

Thanks

You might be better looking on a specialist NSR125 forum, but I seem to remember that the C1626A was the restricted CDI for the French and Swiss markets.

Any other C1626* should fit, but I think there's some sort of mod you can do to the 'A' version to undo the restriction.

to clear any discuss
the CI572 is the JC20 unit unrestricted but has no security stand wire (because JC20 has a central stand which is safe)
the CI626 is the unrestricted unit fitted on IT,UK&IRL,SP bikes
the CI639 is the restricted unit fitted only on french bikes
the CI626A is a restricted unit fitted on swiss & german bikes (this unit has 2 extra wires to fit an additional box in order to limit the speed at 50MPH)
now about exchange :
CI572 , CI626 & CI626A no problem
CI639 and any of the others needs the black/yellow and green to be permuted at the CDI connector
note: you will loose the security stand if you fit a CI572 on a JC22
other note : the CDI unit works with the matching RC/valve unit
CI626 or CI572 with TV78 and CI639 with TV124

just to confirm things. fitted the ci572 too my swiss nsr 125 which had the ci626a cdi fitted and it works perfect.

Added another 15mph to the top speed and the bike revs a lot cleaner.

i recommand that you automatically close the side stand as soon as you get on the bike
it happened to me once as the security switch was not working to fall when pulling out

Respect, cry for help, I wonder whether it is possible to unblock ci626a and how, or must be replaced with ci626 or ci572 to achieve better performance?

Thank you very much, but I am from Serbia, but we are not worth to buy this because I postage costs probably as much a part of. I'll look at us, but until then I can with this drive. Is there a difference between ci626 and ci572 except those functions to the leg side? If the 572 has better map, before I installed it. The rest with us is easier to find unrestricted CDI for jc20, but for JC22. Very few JC22 is unrestricted. Greetings from Serbia. Thumbs Up Shifty

A lot of it is expensive to you Smile in our monthly earnings 20-30000rsd (£ 100-200) and the CDI is one of the cheapest among you a will cost like half of the average salary Rolling Eyes
I do not know best English, but stabbing, I hope you succeed explanation Very Happy
I will Lookup in Serbia, it might be a little harder to find unrestricted, but the price at least half less (30 €)
