At the best of times, I'm an insufferable tosser. Without a bike, I'm like that times 100.

I've been bikeless now for two weeks and climbing the walls. While I have a nice, German, convertible automobile, I'd swap it in a heartbeat for a bike. Am about to enter the third week of bikelessness and at this point show all the signs of coming off methamphetamine.

The only thing I can do to begin to control it is exhaust myself in the gym (which isn't that hard...) However, I'm climbing the walls without a bike. Allegedly, the garage will be delivering it next Thursday after it's been sorted but they don't understand that in that time, I'm going to turn into swivel-eyed loon and start barking at everyone.

How long before you go crazy without a bike?

You can swap your German automobile for my sr125 Laughing come on, heartbeats gone.

So you mean be being insane is just because I haven't been on my bike today? or that my bike isn't good enough to stop me going insane? I'm not really spangled in the head? Very Happy

2 weeks aaawww diddums, I've got a VFR that hasn't been started in pretty damn close to a year and a CBR that hasn't been started since some time in January.... Come to think of it the ninja has been sitting for a couple of weeks too.

Although when I lost my licence I was itching for a shot of a bike after 6 months, and I was on the phone to the insurance company and had the policy in place the minute my ban was up...... still took me 6 hours to wake up and take one of the (then) bikes out

I'm already missing the bike. But as I can't put any pressure on my left foot looks like I'll be off the bike for a few more weeks to month hopefully.

As a commuter, I don't miss my bikes, usually on it every day as I have 4 soon to be 5.
But I do have to go out for a ride once a month, somewhere different to remind myself why I enjoy riding or I just get cheesed off. Especially over the winter.

I haven't ridden since September last year...

Got the bike sorted at the weekend and washed ready for it's MOT though and it's re-lit the fire. Looking forward to getting out on it soon!

If the car was any good, you'd be enjoying that in the mean time instead. I cannot wait to get my old cage on the road for summer evening cruises into the sunset, and the odd full bore pull through the gears on a quiet empty road. It ain't no big budget classic capri or tricked out jap super coupe, but it'll still
make me smile.

There's more times and situations you can enjoy bikes than cars tbh I'd say. I'd always prefer a bike in winter and save the car for summer or shows etc.

Also many on BCF are the type that prefer working on bikes to riding them now. It matters not if I only ride on the road say 5-6times a year, as long as the bike is running really crisp and well on the day. Getting things to work after spending time and money is what I like more than just riding.

I suppose it's the old saying of the fun being in the build not the ride I guess. But then the nostalgia of owning old or retro stuff is another buzz to some.

It`s a funny old thing, this bikeness stuff.

There will be times when I wont ride my bike for weeks and weeks.
However if there is not a bike in the garage that has MOT, tax and insurance, I start to get edgy?
I might not use the bike every day, but I NEED to know that it`s there and ready to be used?

Me too Sad

As for the insanity, it doesn't seem to matter how many wheels I have (or don't), it's always there. Bounce!

Mines been off the road for the best part of 2 years, though my no claims will expire soon so I guess I better fix it, either that or insure a pile of nuts and bolts which never move...

Clearly, I'm insane.

Have to go lift weights as climbing the walls. The worst part is a sunny Friday. Have the urge to jump on the bike this evening and go to the Ace or Paris.

Would love just to get out Friday evening and arrive early hours of the morning.

I don't even like Geneva that much, rather I have biker friends there but I just want to get out and do a few hundred miles there, ride the twisties and blast back on a Sunday.

Otherwise, gym this weekend.

Wimp. Razz

I've spent the last couple of months being largely stuck indoors with a broken leg. I've still got a couple of weeks to go. I have bikes ready to go and I can't do a thing about it.

Spent 6 months on public transport until I decided I didn't care how broken I was, I was getting back on a bike Smile

Wouldn't say I really miss it, more that it's like a drug, when you go for a ride you want more...

I've been bikeless for about four weeks now and it's been an awful experience.

Apart from having the urge to go for a ride on a nice day. The worst thing has got to be having to use public transport.

Instead of getting aboard the next train, I'm getting close to the point of throwing myself in front of it.

Buses are even worse. Sad

I'd lost the plot within about 3 days the last time i was bikeless. I don't have a car and i dont walk very well, so after a few days of south yorkshire pubilc transport i was a wreck. I dont think i was particularly pleasant to be around.
