Yes yes, lazy A.F.

but my CBR had a lot of grime built up, from a couple of trips and being in a very grubby underground car park (and from a long period of me not washing it ...)

So I went to Wharfside. £25 and free parking at the canary wharf shopping centre. 90 minutes later and a very glossy shiny bike. chrome bits polished and finishes waxed or polished (not sure but deep and lustrous)

Sure if you look more closely then perhaps the middle of the wheels could have had more attention for example, but overall quite chuffed.

Not going to be a weekly adventure, but I'll certainly go there again if I sell the bike

I gave my bike a decent wash a few weeks ago and it took me best part of a morning including the time to get everything out and tidied away afterwards.
I've never had my bikes or car washed by anyone else, but having washed and hoovered my car and the wife's this morning after 4 hours sleep, I can see the attraction! On the other hand, I did notice that the wife's car needs a new rear wiper. Washing a vehicle is a good way to check it over.

£25 though, it'd have to be bloody good. Any pics of the clean bike?

not a rip off when you consider some of the other valeting services. They did a pretty good job. I do clean the bike myself but it's a pain in the backside as I live on the third floor and there is no running water in the car park, and no lift. so it's up and down and up and down and becomes a long job.

Hopefully moving soon to a pad with a garage Smile

sorry no pics. but the finish was deep and not streaky, the mirrors, hugger, under tray, dash etc were all clean. exhaust and link pipe polished. wheels cleaned.

Feel like if they did a shit job and you wanted your money back you couldn't get it, they would however clean it again but... well, you can figure it out.

they gave me the opportunity to say whether I was happy - not sure what would have happened if I wasn't but I'm sure you've got a point. These guys do have a reputation to maintain though - their bread and butter is bankers' sports cars in canary wharf

I second that...Wharfside are fantastic. Regardless of whether they are used to washing and polishing posh cars they are very very good with motorcycles. If you're working in Canary Wharf, getting them to clean your motorbike is a no brainer.

In fact i took pictures of my blackbird before a wash just for laughs because it was absolutely filthy and then i took pictures after because no one would believe that it was the same motorbike.

Could they actually ride a (big) bike? Very brave if you left it with them, glad they did a good job Smile

I've never done it, but these seem good https://allyearbiker.co.uk/ I'm very tempted because this winter has been harsh on my bike, but I got a pressure washer for Xmas so find it hard to fork up for it!

No they're not licensed to ride bikes so you have to take it down to where they wash rather than leave it at the drop off (just a couple floors below in the car park). I left them with the key but only in case the alarm dicked around. They just wheel it around down there.

Thats a fair price given that bikes are more difficult to clean than cars (I think so anyway, as there's lots more poking and scrubbing to be done rather than wax on-wax off on nice big areas of smooth metalwork).

I've never seen it offered in my area though, and would be a bit afraid of the local car wash place prodding their Karcher lance up my rear pipes.
