I just recently got this 2002 Suzuki Bandit. It had idling problems & died taking it home. I was able to adjust the throttle position to the correct rpm & the bike ran great for a week. Yesterday I rode to my buddys house and sat there for two hours. When I left it was fine. Get close to home and it starts running rough. First that came to my mind was air filter because I didnt change it when i did the oil filter. When i open the airbox it is full of fuel. What is the deal here??

Carbs will likely have to come off for a clean and will probably need new float valve needles.

Possibly been dropped and had the carbs leak into airbox. What does your engine oil smell/feel like? Definafely full of fuel and not a combination of water and oil?

Bandits airbox collects a lot of water and a bit of oil, some of the water is from the air intake, some of it comes from condensation in the engine which then boils out the crankcase breather and condenses when it meets cold intake air. It likely brings some oil with it. There is a drain hose with a plug in the end on rhe right hand side just in front of the footpeg, clipped in place between the frame and engine. I drain mine as part of weekly checks. I get no more than a tablespoon out.

Hi

Did you park it with the fuel tap set to prime? If so a worn or dirty needle valve in the carb will happily flow petrol with the engine not running, filling the engine and airbox with petrol.

All the best

Katy
