Hello Guys and Girls

I've had my new scooter for 2 weeks now bought it to get me to work and back but the one day I don't use it to go on a family trip to seaside it stopped working when I needed it the day after for work the symptoms I was getting was :

Turning key to start bike powers up like normal as soon as I press the start button it turns everything off so I went to halfords and bought a Oxford 900 battery maintainer and said battery was 13.5 volts and was perfectly fine but bike won't start unless I kick it off for a bike that's no older than a month old I have no clue why it's not starting if anyone can help me with this before I take it in to garage I would be greatful

I'd be booking it straight into the shop I purchased it from and let them deal with it. Warranty's there to be used, make use of it.

You aren't the first Lexmoto owner to experience electrical starting issue form new and wont be the last. I and others I've come across have suffered a similar fate. Should be fine and dandy once it's fixed, in my case at least.

Can you describe exactly what happens?

It could be that the starter circuit has a short in it, or it could be that the battery has an internal short that only occurs under load.

The most cost effective accessory for these bikes is a £5 multimeter. Without that, you're largely just guessing. If you want to guess, I'd check any fuses(s) and reseat any electrical connections that you can find, especially in the starter circuit and on any side-stand cutout switch.

Yup, sounds like a bad 'un.

Have you taken the battery out and had a look at it? If it's a wet cell, it's possible that the monkey who did the "PDI" didn't fill it properly - or at all.

You should be able to see electrolyte in all the cells, between the LOWER and UPPER level markings.

Why jump straight to "replacing"? If it's dry, it takes minutes to check it, pennies to sort it.
