Good afternoon fellow BCF members.

My name is Matt. I live in Newmarket and work in Cambridge. I'm a middle aged biker and currently ride a K8 Gixer 750. Not had the bike out for a while as most spare time is taken up with Daddy duties, but looking to return to the biking scene this year.... Yes I'm a fair weather biker.

Nice bike, and welcome.

I am VERY local to you, so maybe see you around, if any of this 'fair weather' you speak of ever arrives

Eh up! Nice neck of the woods, that. I like all those hamlets and villages south of N-market - Borough Green, Brinkley, Carlton etc. Got to know 'em quite well - but that's a long time ago, and I'm up north now.

Thanks very much guys.

Never too far for a ride out though skatefreak Smile

Hey BrownTrousers, where abouts are you? I'm sure we'll have some lovely days. Weekend just gone would have been perfect if I'd sorted my MOT already (and the Suzuki recall from years ago for the Mast Cylinder which I've still failed to do).

Thumbs Up

I know skatefreak, it's hard to be motivated about the bike sometimes, particularly when the weather isn't so good (looking out the window at work and it's grey), but once the prep is done we're ready to roll on the sunny days! Where abouts are you based?

Thanks ondabike. Although mines had bugger all use the last few years (mainly because my boy arrived), I wouldn't want to sell it and I'm fortunate enough to be able to hold on to it.

Welcome mate.

I'm 10 miles west of Cambridge. Down for a rideout most of the time.

There's a bunch of BCFers going to Santa Pod on the 16th of April for RWYB. £35 gets you on the strip and you can do as many runs as you can fit in to the day.

If you want to ride over there with me then give me a PM and we can do it.

Hi there!

I've just joined and I'm living in Cambridge at the moment, commuting to Ipswich everyday. I'm about to take my CBT early June in anticipation for my new job in Cambridge.

I'm just trying to figure out what 125 to buy Smile

All the best!

Hey there,
I would have to give a shout out to CamRider,
having done a few CBT's in my time they were the most thorough and very good when it came to doing my direct access as well!
Location may be a little tricky though (Sawston)...

Welcome btw Thumbs Up

Depends how close you stand.

Fair weather season has started, every bugger was out today. We were three men abreast at one point, which sounds like the plot to some low budget porno.

Hey fella.

Get on it Thumbs Up

Like skatefreak said, Camrider has a site in Sawston and I found them to be very friendly/good. Bear in mind everyone will be trying to sort their licences now the weather has finally improved!

Good luck,
Matt

This is the exact same problem I have now. The friends I used to ride with have other priorities as they have got older/married/had kids etc, not that I've not done these things too, but getting out on my bike is one of the few things I enjoy.
