Afternoon chaps,

I popped my cherry and had my first off yesterday, luckily it was only a fairly low speed slip...

I'm riding a 2013 Street Triple, and the following the accident, the ABS light that usually goes off after 5mph remains on, flashing.

The bike fell on the right hand side, but the fork protectors prevented the front wheel/brakes from taking any damage, and unfortunately the exhaust did the same for the rear...

It's early days of me looking to sort it out, but does anything have any ideas as to why this is happening?

I'd start with visual check, the rotors (where the markings for the ABS are) and the sensors + their wiring. Then, I'd try to reset the system. I'm not sure if it's done with a button or you just disconnect the battery.

Also, check the fuses, as I think the ABS has its own fuse.

Does the STriple has an OBD2 port? My S4 did, it's worth getting a cheap OBD2 Bluetooth adaptor, you can they use your phone to reader error codes.

The obvious guess is the shock of the crash has moved/disconnected/ fused the sensors or system.

A thorough inspection of everything is first on your list.

As others have said, first check the fuse, then the wires are connected and the rotor attachments are in tact.

Yes it does have an OBD2 port (under the seat near the drop sensor in the middle), but is VERY fussy over which BT device will work.

Apparently this is down to Triumph not sticking 100% to the communication standard. Whether that's true or not I don't know. What I do know is I bought 4 devices and only 1 communicated to the ECU (but all worked via BT and connected to my phone ok).

3 on the left did not connect to ECU:

I've actually bought two of these now in case the one I had breaks.

I only bought one and it worked, the one I bought looks like the rightmost 2.

Cheers guys, I shall have a look at getting one, and give the bike a once over when I get a chance.

Ahh, that is interesting. Certainly the device looks very similar to the ones that I have which don't work.

Very interesting, thanks for the link! But I probably won't try and fix them because I'd be a little worried about hooking up something to my bikes electrical system that I'd been tinkering with Very Happy
I can just about cope with +/- wires and an inline fuse to get some accessory or other working. I doubt I'd be able to make a good job of that change though. Read it a few times and don't really understand it.

I think they cost me £5-7 each. I was happy to waste a bit of money because I'd saved close to £700 on garage costs at that point.

The reviews on Amazon seem to imply that the units I have work fine with cars, so I might put two up on ebay (being clear they didn't work with my bike) as a single sale and keep a dodgy one to have a look at.

Have bookmarked the site, thanks Thumbs Up

Try disconnecting the battery then reconnecting. Sounds simple but...
