Why on earth do you let them get away with this?

TL:DR Tax payer money spent on leaflets which are pro-stay in EU.

This breaks the 7 million campaign rules as it is in addition to the millions already spent.

Quote:

"The prime minister promised Parliament that no taxpayers' money would be spent promoting Remain or Leave," he said.

The leaflet in question.

Wonder how it cost £500K to make that?!

Perhaps we won't. [Finger hovers over BREXIT button]

Huh, I see your lot have switched from shooting political prisoners in the face to the much more efficient mobile execution vans. Just as an aside about the scale of what we tolerate from our dear leaders.

Itchy, your only defining feature is your ethnicity. Seriously if you were a run of the mill white man rather than an angry Asian you'd have absolutely nothing to witter about. knock it on the head, it gets tiresome playing everything for chink oppression points like BCF is some oriental version of Tumblr.

That leaflet might as well say, "I'm begging you to stay in".

It does make me pause for a moment, considering Cameron and Corbyn want to stay in. A strange thing for both leaders to be united on, even if their motives are slightly different.

Some interesting points in the leaflet too, mainly regarding immigration and the fact absolutely nothing will change if we leave the EU. The point about Norway, and the fact they're out of the EU but have to let EU citizens freely enter their country if they're to trade with Europe, is quite poignant.

I'm still voting out anyway because again all they could come up with was 'uncertainty'.

If we have good people at the negotiating table when the time comes, things could work out rather well.

(Sorry off topic)

Oh dear

Very, very interested to see how that one plays out. I have a feeling they won't so easily be able to use the 'private matter' excuse...

I'm pro-EU and think he's dropped a bollock. Let the big business who want to stay in fund it. After all, if they'll lose so much by being out of it, a couple of hundred grand between them all is chump change.

TL:DR PM is corrupt and full of crap but we keep forgetting and its business as usual yadda yadda yadda. Cheers Itchy for reminding me and making me angry.

Edit: I feel so Teff right now Dance!

Its quiet depressing to think of all the goody two shoes that will be getting this leaflet and taking it all in without realising the government is going full steam cluster fuck ahead in pursuit of their own interests no matter what...
'You wanted a vote so we'll give you one... After spending half your pension trying to brainwash you into voting the right way'.

I get people being irked over Itchy being so vocal about what's going on over here when such behaviour would be a marked improvement in his domestic climate but why does it take someone else to point this out to us?

We collectively dismiss a disgusting amount of horse shit from our 'political' elite. They do whatever they want in pursuit of their own gain/misguided vanity projects/pursuits...

They make promises saying whatever they think we want to hear, they break said promise.
Apologise, promise again. Brake said promise. Rinse, Repeat.

Decision after decision, term after term, manifesto after manifesto of outright bullshit and people seriously debate who to vote for based on these politicians promises?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Cameron elected for two terms on his pledges to:
Ring fence the NHS,
Ring fence Education,
Bring Immigration down to 10's of thousands,
'Get tough on knife crime'.
It would be quicker to just read his bleeding manifestos and then google 'U Turn' and match the articles to his pledges...

Having Goldman Sachs to evaluate Royal mail which was subsequently sold off a lot cheaper than it should have been? Anyone else surprised at that one?
Speak out against MP raises of 11% being unnecessary? Low and behold they are now heading for another raise on top of said 11% last year.
Speak out against the utter Lunacy of the houses of lords only to ram it with 'his buddies' to help push through his agenda.

We've just found out our current Prime Minister's his father is big in the tax evasion/avoidance world, something his son has been alleging to address for a while now...

All the freaking time, Says one thing to look good and then goes and does either the opposite or if possible, something even more ridiculous.

They take a huge amount of YOUR money before you see it (for the majority on PAYE), make 'all the big decisions' on how the country is run and I still can't imagine anyone less trustworthy than this bunch of Eaton 'PM Club' idiots that we always end up with.

The voting system is far from balanced, 4 million votes scored 2 whole seats. 'The best out of a bunch of flawed voting systems'?
Conveniently also the one voting system that garentees the same big 3 parties will stay in power forever more and those going against the system get literally zero representation.

The whole system is like the emperors new clothes accept cameron Knows he's stark bollock naked and can get away with literally anything".

We're cutting services left right and centre, front line services people rely on, benefits, pensions etc all in the name of 'Austerity' because we need to 'live within our means' aka we're spending to much.

So What is Camerons Fettish for handing billions out in Foreign aid and increasing it year on year? I Know of No One who wants this to continue???

I fear there are still people out there that dismiss all this and will take this Pro EU Propaganda for face value.

At the end of the day, the system is not perfect, its the 'lesser of evils' but by god it drives me livid how corrupt and ineffective our system has become.

It would be so funny if these clowns wern't actually running the bleeding country :O

Even if the vote is NO I'd put a bet on them doing a repeat of Ireland, under some technicality, and making you vote again until they get the right result. You don't really think they're going to let you leave on your own terms do you?

Much of the leaflet costs will be postage.

I don't think the leaflet will make much difference, these things usually go straight in the bin. The perceived unfairness and state imposition could really help the out campaign, and that will e conveyed through TV and radio which people do pay some attention to.

And their example of stability is the Eurozone. I fall off my chair laughing everytime they imply it.

They also brought this to Greece

I believe that Corbyn is in principle an Outie because Greater Germany isn't red enough for him. However, it's politically untenable for him to go head to head with the PLP and the corporate and plutocratic donors.

Unions should be staunchly anti-immigration (whose unskilled jobs are bin turken?), but the organ grinder isn't necessarily looking after the monkey's best interests.

ThoughtControl wrote:

The technicality is that there's nothing in the referendum legislation that commits to any action based on the result.

Well, I got the 'out' version through my letterbox today. Very plain, no pretty pictures and quite well written. I'm quite impressed.

However talking to my next door neighbour it seems that thick people are only impressed by fancy leaflets so she is voting in. Rolling Eyes

You don't spot the obvious flaw that dooms it to failure?

Some dude or other wrote:
