It seems to be a limitation of the way the card has to be formatted, they all do it though the actual length of each clip varies.
I suspect the more manageable size is often better anyway if you want to edit bits out to save or use.

Are those 10 minute files 4GB each? If so, it's because your card is writing files in FAT32 format.

If you want one big file you need to reformat your card to write as NTFS. Back up existing files before doing this or you'll lose them.

I run FAT32 for video just because the 4GB file sizes are quicker to import into editing programs and onto my PC from SD card, and that also reminds me to save my work while I edit (usually save inbetween importing new clips).

I've also found that with the Drift Ghost S on FAT32 I'll lose a good 20 seconds of footage as it writes a new file to the card, so there's gaps in the footage.

But if you're not editing (or just have an OP computer/patience) or you just wanna play back your footage, go with NTFS because you won't lose any video footage.

Card should be formatted in camera really - applies to all cameras.
It will expect to write to FAT32.
Worth trying but test first.

I'd be inclined to believe it is formatted to FAT because the camera can't use NTFS

Mine does half hour clips then starts another. There is usually a teeny bit missing between movies.

I think all cameras will write in FAT32 only, not actually sure why they can't use NTFS, has never been an issue though as the clips are continuous so you just drag and drop in to your video editing software and it's seamless.

FAT32 isn't a 'proper' file system, it's more akin to a lookup table and not much more.
'Proper' file systems like EXT, Reiserfs, NTFS and so on are much more sophisticated and have significant overheads in terms of processing requirements and disk usage. FAT32 is well suited to slow simple devices like action cams. The other benefit is almost all operating systems can mount FAT32 volumes so it's nicely transportable.

Because NTFS belongs to Microsoft and they don't license it iirc.

I sometimes use Seagate Disc Wizard (which is free) to format a memory card. It's more versatile than Windows. For example it formats my 64GB microSD card as a single FAT32 partition. Windows formats it in exFAT, which my camera can't use.

OP, you're essentially asking us how the menus work on your unbranded copycam. How would we know?

So try Meef's idea - plug the card into your PC and format it in NTFS. It can't do any harm.

have you looked through the settings?

dash cams often have this feature for continuous recording.

try finding something like 'recording interval' or something.

you might be able to change the length of time before it starts recording to a new file.

Why would you want one big massive file?
The scope for that file getting corrupted and not being usable is massive. Shocked

Never mind all the wasted time having to load and work on a big file.
Far better to keep the files small and stitch them together if needed. In fact any decent cam you cannot even tell where one file ends and another starts, they are that good now.

Stick to no longer than 5 mins for decent editing.

Personally don't have an issue with the split files but some people report there's a tiny dip in audio/video of a second or two, which can look a bit shit when you try and merge it all together.

Tried formatting into ntfs but it says card error. What software can you use to merge the files?

Try GoPro studio, it's free and actually very good - fairly simple once you get the hang of it.
It first asks you to import and converts to a format better suited to edit, then at the end you export again.
Try a 10 second clip before anything too time consuming.

I found the camera on Alibaba, it's the Shenzhen HDKing DV603c https://hdking.en.alibaba.com/product/60397116614-221099357/A9_Waterproof_Sports_DV_Recorder_SJ4000_HD_720P_Action_Camera_Camcorder_2_0_Inch_Screen_7_Colors_Available.html

It's also sold as the SJCam SJ4000:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SJCAM-Multi-function-SJ4000-Waterproof-wide-angle/dp/B00MO78F3G
https://sjcamhd.com/sjcam-sj4000-wifi/

Basic manual here https://www.sjcam.com/download/sj4000wifi-English-manual.pdf

There's a lot of discussion of the SJ4000 on cycling and RC forums - if you want to talk to fellow owners, head to one of these: https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=sj4000+camera+forum

Another recommended free editing app is Hitfilm 3 Express https://hitfilm.com/express I can't install it though - it doesn't like my graphics drivers Evil or Very Mad
