Hello chaps.
I have been using the M3 / A316 for many months into London, and I knew where the Gatso cameras were located. As a result of a shoulder injury I had to stop riding Sad until said injury was healed.

As of this week back on the bike Very Happy but found myself in the avg speed camera zone on the A316.

Has anyone fallen foul of these beasts? I fear the worst....

There's an average speed camera zone on the roadworks on the M5 at the moment.

The cameras on that one only read the front of the vehicle.

Unfortunately the A316 cameras point to the rear of the bike. Imagine my surprise when riding east and notice that the old cameras were no longer there and then returning in the evening in the opposite direction to see the average speed cameras in their place, albeit 50ft up a pole.

I'd also be interested to know if they are working or not.

According to this Freedom of Information Act request the cameras are not operational and there's no official start date for them. When there is a date we'll be given advance warning via twitter, road signs and the media https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/average_speed_cameras_on_a316
