Bought it on steam, sucks on PC.

Not sure how good the console version is though.

Alright game, the same engine as in the MotoGP games, so you start your motorcycle with full throttle, which only results in dropping the revs to the idle and slowly gaining speed. But it was quite fun to play to be honest, plus there are not many games as such to pick from. If I compare it to my all time favourite motorcycle game Tourist Trophy (PS2, 2005), the Ride is less challenging, perfect for a casual player. There were some bugs in my copy (PC, xbox 360 controller), but I could still quite enjoy it. The only flaw is the engine itself and the physics of the riding, it doesn't feel like you are on a motorcycle at all. I mean, even at full-sim settings you may brake at full lean whenever you please, full throttle mid-corner only results in cool back slide and that's it, you may as well touch the walls around the track with out crashing...

The cool part about the Ride (we all played it a year ago) is the motorcycle selection in the game and a certain degree of modification you can do. But it's not really a game that you would play twice, in my humble opinion.
I had my fun with it, solid 6/10 (knowing, the TT (PS2, 2005) would be 10/10 motorcycle video game).

I didn't really like how the bike handled in the game engine. It felt extremely artificial. One of the issues with bike games and bike physics in game engines is that there's no graduated acceleration (or graduated anything for that matter). it's either on/off, which means you're constantly on/offing the throttle in turns and correcting your line about a hundred times and it feels all very artificial.

Not sure how you'd get around that though, you can't really do graduated input without an actual lever or some kind.

Oh and, the graphics are abysmal. Looks like it's 720p, and all the textures other than the bikes themselves are horrid, and even the bikes look very lego-esque/not too detailed.

Ahh gutted. I only paid £18 for it, so if it provides even a bit of entertainment for £18 I shouldn't grumble. It's a shame nobody is planning a really good bike game. I used to like PGR on xbox 360. It was very arcadey but really playable.

I guess you'll get a few hours of enjoyment (and frustration) out of it. I did, before I sort of stopped playing.

It's OK, main gripe is the arcade physics. i.e. Can hammer on brakes/throttle mid corner with little consequence.

The SBK series were half decent physics (lots of crashing), but it's very a boring format (i.e. multiple race weekends on the same bike, not hooning about on various road bikes).

We need GT to release a modern Tourist Trophy Drooling .

I still play it online now and again, a hell of a lot of connection issues though, at least on ps4, wait an age for a race to finish only to get booted out before it starts Evil or Very Mad

I've had a few goes since my first post. I'd say it's better than average, but it's no GTA.

I've whacked everything up to simulation, manual gears etc. Slightly annoying you can give an MT07 full throttle round a corner and yet the back wheel doesn't spin up. Not sure that's entirely realistic. The more powerful bikes are better for this however. Other than that I'm fairly pleased with it. As mentioned, I only gave £18 for it so definitely worth a punt at that.

In case anyone decides to take the plunge, I've linked where I got them it from above.
