Cheers for the warning. I tend to hoon my way up to the traffic lights in the wrong lane on a numerous amount of occasions. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. It's not right to go down the other side, next to the kerb, is it? I can't remember ever doing it, but it's always tempted me. I'm generally patient enough to stay in queue, in case I do get mauled by some car coming the other way. It is legal going down the middle of road though, isn't it?

You shouldn't go kerbside a this is considered undertaking, and other road users are probably not looking for you on that side and may turn left without much warning.
It's perfectly OK to go on the right hand side if you have enough room without going over the centre line with any part of your bike, but many cars will still not be looking out for you.
Use the 'wrong' lane only if you can see far enough ahead and have an escape route. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

Odd thing that. I asked a traffic cop about undertaking when cars are turning right (in the UK).
Apparently if all the cars in the line of traffic are also turning right it's perfectly legal but if just one of them isn't it's illegal |
