AJS DD125E REGAL RAPTOR Exhaust system question :)

Hi all,

Pleased to be a new member of the forum, it's looks great!

I was looking for some help and advice regarding my 2008 AJS DD125E Regal Raptor.

I know they are a clone of the Honda Rebel, and although it's Chinese made, it's not a terrible bike at all and on my budget was a really good choice.

I bought it second hand last August and most of the bike is in good condition.

Sadly this is not the case for the exhaust system, the downpipes are all rusty, the cat joining pipes are all rotten and warped, and the mufflers are in a bit of a mess.... Never mind the fact the previous owner has WELDED them onto the brackets lol.

Anyway I have managed to buy a pair of used brackets ready for the new Exhausts... But then I saw the prices AJS charge for 2 new Exhausts (downpipes, cats and cans) comes to nearly £400, I only paid £450 for the bike in the first place.

Trying to find a used pair is proving impossible, they don't seem to exist in the UK and from what I can see, nobody anywhere has a second hand pair lol.

After some searching, I have found that there are after market systems designed for a Honda Rebel cmx250 and some for the Rebel 125.

To me they look almost identical to the ones for the DD125E (minus the cat pieces), and they are litterally half the price (from the USA).

Bearing in mind that all the genuine AJS parts for my bike have the DD250E part numbers.... Can anybody tell me (from knowledge or direct experience) would the rebel 125 or 250 exhaust systems fit a DD125E REGAL Raptor?

Yes it's probably best to get the AJS ones, but I cannot afford them right now and my MOT is due in under 2 months... There is no way it's going to pass with these pipes, they leak, they won't tighten properly, just a total mess really... Plus the look really really ugly.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated... I have ripping my hair out about this, I know my bike was cheap but I really don't wanna have to lose it

I will have a browse and see if any of the folks over there can help

I'm 98% sure these rebel compatible ones will fit, maybe even with a bit of cutting and re-welding... I just don't want to order them all the from California and pay the import tax, only to find they are way off.

It's really the manifold size I'm worried about... If they will fit onto the engine head, I'm sure I can DIY them to fit the brackets / rear foot rests.
