Why am i so nervous second time around? (mod 1)

Hi all

I have my MOD 1 next week, going in for the full A category test. I have passed the mod 2 before on the A2 category before i was 24. I passed it with 1 minor for the clutch being sticky and i couldnt get it into neutral, took me for a few trys so in my eyes 0 minors.

I should be able to pass it no problem but im EXTREMELY nervous and even more so than the first time ! To be honest if i fail it i dont mind redoing it over and over its the simple fact i have to wait so long to get a test date is whats putting me off, that if i fail ill need to wait another month atleast espeically in the busy summer season.

can anyone offer some words of advice? thanks Smile

You've done exactly the same test once before so you know what will happen, so why worry?

What's the worst that can happen, you still keep your A2, so nothing to worry about.

Have a bacon sandwich before you go. Bacon solves everything.

Not quite the same, but took my first Mod 1 at the beginning of April. Was nervous, but managed to keep it pretty well in check. And I failed.

Retook it today, was pretty much shitting myself this morning before heading off. Test this afternoon, passed with clean sheet.

Something clicked for me today, I think directing and channelling the nervous energy helped.

Get loads of practice in on the morning of the test, this is what I did and I felt more confident going into the test a couple of hours later. Another guy who was learning along side me however just spent the morning chatting to our instructor and never practiced one manoeuvre. He failed, put his foot down on the first manouvere.

Also take deep breaths before each manouvere, this really helped me too. Good luck.

You could be overthinking the situation maybe?
I get shit your pants nerves during tests, I imagine every worst possible outcome in every situation.
It's not fun ...but I got my license rather easily considering.
Add to that I had a Hiatus Hernia whilst doing my training (meaning if I got nervous I vomited, racing to stop and take your lid off to puke isn't as funny as it sounds.)

My point I guess is that things can always get worse, so MTFU, persevere and tell life to eat shit. Smile

I know like you guys said i have done it before, but its the FIGURE OF 8 i have just built it up in my head. im so afraid to put my foot down, everything else is pretty much easy!

i think in the UK mainland you get as much space as you need right? here in Northern Ireland we have cones (or in the track closest to me) theres a kerb in the way so if you go to far youll hit that and boom FAIL.

need to just get out for another practice before test day and blitz this mofo

See this is the thing? i dont understand why does mainland UK get as wide as they like, although we dont have to do the reversing the bike into the bay thingy but we get a limited figure of 8 and let me tell you guys its NOT that big.

also we need to redo our CBT certificate for each category which is a bit silly aswell :/ iv done 3 CBTs, one for my 125, one for A2 and one for A.
