MCN Bike Festival Peterborough

Me & my mate went today. Paid £19-00 each to get in & what a load of rubbish.
Really disappointed with the amount (or lack) of decent exhibitors / Traders. (Depends on what you class as a bargain I guess?)

I was hoping to get a new leather jacket but the lack of quality manufacturers was more than apparent - I didn't expect a bargain (a showprice discount is always welcome of course) - but a decent selection would have been even more welcome.

This is without doubt the worst ever one I've been to in the last 8 years & I definitely won't be going again.

MCN should be embarrassed - They must be charging a ridiculous amount of money for a pitch - and they said they've listened to suggestions & improved the festival - not sure how or where?

Don't waste your time or hard earned cash by going, as you'll only wish you hadn't & done something else instead.

MCN are seriously over rated, everything they do is rubbish. They're just a bunch of spoilt journos too, just read one of their reviews.

I went yesterday morning.

twas Ok.

The Herald stand was probably the only interesting exhibit from manufacturers imo. The 125 they had was a particularly good looking beast, even if it'll be spoilt by the addition of "L" plates on purchase.

Also, the Practical Sportsbike stand was rendered completely pointless by having something more akin to a tent erected at the far corner of the site.

If your showing off bikes that have had time, money and care taken into every single bolt, why pile them up like a central London bike park ???

It would have been far better if the stand was big enough for you to get round every angle of the bike and appreciate all the effort that has been put into them. Peterborough definitely had the space for them to do that, it was huge.

The Bike parade was also duly tucked away. It also would have been infinitely more interesting if they had bothered to tell you what you were looking at on an A4 piece of paper next to each machine.

Someone might be able to correct me here, but was it Yamaha that had a ridiculously loud stand that had microphones blaring out the sound of its exhausts all day ?. what was the point in that ? If your exhausts aren't loud enough to hear normally, then you've obviously got the wrong exhausts on .......

TL:DR : Would I go again ?, I doubt it.

Wasnt to bad a day out, sure it was a better event last year though.

was suprised that Honda wasnt there with a manufacturer presence though.

Wouldnt have paid £19 to get in though, they had £15 online tickets before the event.

Same old tents with racks and racks of oxford tat and gear. some bargins to have though, but few and far between,

auto jumble stands were cast out to the fringe of the show unfortunately, some interesting bits n bobs on offer at least

still bemuses me why some stalls go to motorbike shows, balance magnets, dresses, saw one stand with halloween style rubber horror masks?! And of course the chap i see all the time at shows with the cobalt drill bits

I went and camped for the weekend, and had a great time. Granted it was my first bike festival in the UK, but I got to ride a few bikes, watch some bikes and talk shit about bikes all weekend.

All in all I came away with a huge smile.

The classic bikes were great, even more so that there was the opportunity to ride some bikes manufactured before I was born.

Most of the tents were a bit crap, loads of low quality cheap rubbish rather than quality kit, but there were a few bargains to be had, including Arai and Shoei lids at £100 off retail.

I got in for free last year and still felt ripped off. Its been getting gradually worse each year and i wont be going again. Shame really as it used to be a great day out with some good bargains to be had.
