There's potential for the BBC to remove all their online recipes. So, here's a little gem to make sure they don't get lost forever

Code:
wget --quiet bbc.co.uk/food/sitemap.xml --output-document - | egrep -o "https?://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/[^<]+" | wget -i -

No, they're just kicking off like spoiled self harming brats, as they do every time their budget or charter is under threat.

Got lots of Mary Berry recipes here, it'd be a shame if anything... happened to them.

Isn't newsbeat the tabloid style bit? Seem to remember it being full of kardashianesque 'news'

Downloading a copy of all the recipes seems unnecessary.

archive.org isn't going anywhere and there'll be other sites archiving the receipes from bbc.co.uk as well.

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/ is staying online.

Maybe you all should have bought TV licenses if you care about the BBC removing some part of their website that you've never looked at before today.

Then you wouldn't be sat there trying to work out how to download 11,000 recipes from bbc.co.uk before they take it offline. Razz

Meh. Archive.org has/will/does remove content - we should all rely on the integrity of a 3rd party archive, right? It's less than a gig uncompressed, and took less than 2 minutes to download.

I have a tv license, 11,161 to be exact and I'm not at work, I'm in your attic..

P.S. Want to buy my new recipe book? 11,161 recipes for you to try out. Yours for £19.95
