So I passed Mod 2 for A2 on the 29-Aug-14. Two year bollocks/whatever almost up, going to go for DAS ASAP.

I know I can sit tests after 29th of Aug, but do I have to wait until 29th Aug to actually begin training for the tests?

I only plan to do 1 or 2 lessons to get used to the old XJ6's awfully stiff clutch lever. I know I can just wait till the 30th but no because extreme impatience, unless I have to because rules.

As a side note, can I ask for my tests to be booked on a weekend (sat/sun)?

Tenks.

Edit: Didn't post in new bikers section 'cause I ain't new init.

This sort of matters because if it were direct access then your theory would have expired and you'd have to do it again. As it is, you can just go and do the tests after your 2 year purgatory.

Outlook is unclear. The 1999 Regulations and 2012 Amendment only talks about "Minimum ages for holding or obtaining licences", in your case "the age of 21 in a case where a person has, for a period of not less than two years, held a full licence which authorises the driving of A2 motorcycles"

(actual quotes, not Tef"quotes")

However, I can't see any training school taking a gamble on it until you've passed the magic two year mark.

Are you going via a school then? I know you want a spanky new R6RRrrarrar but it's perfectly viable to bag something like an old Bandit or Fazer that's natively A, but A2 restrictable, ride up and do your tests on that yourself. Fiddle under the seat "Yeah, yeah, removed the throttle restrictor", win. BodyGuard managed it. Wink

My school let me loose on the restricted bikes before I was 19. I'm not sure if the trainer was able to do the maths and work out my age to be honest. I think if you turn up confident they'll let you go.
