That advert for a comparison sight with that screeching Welsh tenor. I flatly refuse ever to go on the Go Compare site in my revulsion. Another one is that one where some obnoxious twat in a 'cowboy' shirt attempts to flog me a broadband subscription. A third one is the continuous battering I get from some 'herbert' with a scruffy Collie-dog flogging a battery powered vacuum cleaner. The profit margin must be stupendous to pay for it therefore they are charging far too much. I never fully realised the true value of the 'mute' button on the remote until recently but now I love it !.

I can't remember the last time I saw a good advert. In the 90's they used to be awesome

I used to love the 'commercial breaks' in The Goodies where they totally took the piss out of the crappy 1970s' adverts.
Sure there were a few classics like 'Secret Lemonade Drinker' and 'I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke' but the rest were fucking dire.

Christmas was the worst, every year they re-ran the same ones, Orson Wells plugging cheap sherry, Old Spice, Tweed perfume, BabyCham and Party Sevens. Was a bottle of Old Spice ever sold except the week before Christmas?

I think the BBC had a few undercover agents at ITV tasked with driving everyone back to BBC1 by commercial torture.

The current Kwik-Fit ads.

So and so got my hamster from up my dashboard.

Bob and Billy got me to my wedding.

Shite. I can just about get them to fit a tyre for me.

As for good ads, the Gorilla playing the drums and the puppet that looks like Animal singing the East 17 thing. I think it's for 3? Phone company.

No, the 80s had some of the best (and worst)

https://youtu.be/Toek6CdldC8

https://youtu.be/xBLEYYIG0_Q?t=6s - this was awesome (in the true meaning of the word) when it first showed, in a pre-cgi age.

The only one that really bugs me at the moment is the taxi driver go compare ad.

Adverts these days show little creativity or wit. Can't stand any of them.

I used to love those "series" ads in the 80's and 90's, like Hamlet cigars, Cinzano Bianco or even a new Levi's ad. These were witty and kept your interest even if you never bought the products.

My personal fave, after Carlos Fandango and his Super-wide Wheels (younger readers may need to google) is.....

Hamlet Ad, photo booth

It never stops being hilarious, however often you watch it.

I seem to have developed a natural filter to filter out the adverts, to the point where if we're watching the TV together, and my missus mentions something about an add that's just been on, I can't recall anything about it.

Proably not what the companies are paying all that money to the ad men are hoping for Smile

I can switch off to tedious ads but here's one I'm strangely drawn to.

Not bothering with TV in general is far more satisfying.

Likewise. Now they've got that taxi driver geezer they've managed to find what must be the only person on the planet more annoying than the tenor to stick in their ads. I gives 'em a wide berth when I needs me insurance.

There's one for some life insurance policy where some old woman reads some script about how heartbreaking it was when her friend died and left her family with the funeral expenses. Fuck off leech bitch. If and when it happens it'll be a privilege to pay for my parents' funerals.
