I think it makes little difference Smile.

They both do the job they were intended to pretty well.

Not ridden a zx12 though /me smiles sweetly at Mr C Razz.

No way! Admittedly it's a step in the right direct for BMW, styling wise, as they make the ugliest range of bikes on the planet but it still looks dull.

And that tank looks like it's been in an accident!!

Both are great Hyper sports Tourers, if thats the correct name for them? Or otherwise, Honda's, Suzuki's and Kawasaki's Fastest top speed bikes!
They all do the job of going very very fast very well, but they are all different enough to be strongly opinionated about by their owners. I must admit ive only out of the 3 ridden the Blackbird, and that was for 5miles only!
You wont find any Bird, Busa, or ZX12 owners that like the other models as much as thier own choice, Particually the Busa and ZX12.
I personally like big Kawasaki's so for me their is only one choice, though all 3 of these bikes are quite compromised in many areas. The Bird, is to some people like a VFR on steroids, while to others its just a big soft smoothy. Ive seen alot of big lads that ride these types of bike, so i can only presume that they are quite comfy for the larger than average rider.
I hope that the new Blackbird when or if it ever arrives, is a radical bike with a strong emphasis on alot of useable power, probably from a V5? The Kawasaki and Suzuki both look odd to an extent, but thats for a reason, (Aerodynamics) You cant look like a short sportsbike with a tiny screen, if you want to reach 200mph! Long and swoopy is the answer!
I do think that if Kawasaki replace the 12R next year that the new bike shoule be able to do all the things that both the ZX12 and the ZZR12 did well, but better! One bike that combines the advantages of both would surely be a good idea! The Busa will need updating soon, and maybe the current GSXR styling will be more appropriate!

Very Happy Who said anything about looks? One sit that baby and I was hooked. Quality bike. It's a rider's bike, not a looker. Anyway I think it looks fine.

Sorry I'll defend this bike to the end! It rules.

Hmm.

If I had a paintjob that looked as expensive as that, I wouldn't want to ride the bike in case it got scratched.

And I'd choose a better bike with a better colourscheme! Laughing

Horses for courses I guess.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
