Can anyone clear this up for me?

I'm 55 years old and if I pass the Module 1 test on a restricted motorcycle, can I ride this motorcycle for two years then unrestrict it and carry on riding or will I have to take the Module 2 test?

Alan.

You need to do mod one and mod two to ride

You are confused with cbt and old restricted licences

Nope.

Why not just de-restrict the bike and do your test?

This thread makes my head hurt.

Simplest answer: talk to some local training schools, tell them that you want a Big Boy license, they'll sort you out.

CBT - ride anything up to 125cc/14.7bhp for up to two years.
Theory and Mod 1 and Mod 2 - Ride anything you like.
Theory and Mod 1 on it's own - means nothing, only that you are now allowed to take Mod 2.

.. and it's only that simple 'cos you're ancient like me. For the kiddies it's a bit more complicated.

Thanks folks, I'm intending to do the whole shebang, but was wondering about the complexities if I was to fail module 2.

Complexities?
Pass, you get a licence.
Fail you don't.
You need the full trilogy of Theory, Mod 1 & Mod 2 to get any licence, A1, A2 or Full-A. Only difference is the age you can take the tests, and bike you test on.
