Yamaha Vity XC125E won't start

Hi folks,

Took our little 5000 mile 2008 Vity to get an MoT. Started fine as it always does. Scooter ran the 3 mile trip to garage faultlessly. Passed MoT with flying colours as it always does. Then wouldn't start when leaving the MoT station.

Noticed that the fuel pump wasn't whirring and pressurising when the ignition was switched on, but everything else was normal.

No amount of tinkering with connections and relays and fuse and battery and new plug would make the thing start.

I checked the fuel pump wiring with a digital multimeter and it was receiving a few seconds of 12v to get it to pressurise, but no reaction from the pump.

Went out this morning (next day) and it fired up normally with it's usual whirring fuel pump noise!

I'm thinking the fuel pump has an intermittent fault, but wondered if anyone else has had any similar experience before I go spend money on parts I don't need.

Check if the fuel pump has voltage to it when it`s silent.
