So my tail light illuminates brighter when using the rear brake than it does using the front brake. Front brake seems to work but light is much duller.

What's going on there? Had a new switch fitted to the front brake a while back because it wasn't illuminating the tail light at all (but there was no difference in brightness after this was fixed).

Obviously got some issues with my electrics. Where to start?

Likely to be more old wiring and shitty corroded connector blocks in the path from front brake switch to lamp as opposed to rear brake switch to lamp.

Use a multimeter to measure resistance of said paths and compare. Alternatively, measure the voltage across the bulb when operating the rear/front switches and compare. Most likely cleaning the connector blocks will sort it.

As long as it is "bright enough" though.... is it really an issue?
