Anyone in the UK tried android pay yet?

I bank with lloyds and recently installed the app on my xperia Z5, not tried it yet,
I can see it having its uses occasionally, if I leave my wallet at home and such, I'll still use my debit card the majority of the time if I can,

Do I need to launch the app everytime I use it?
Also would a phone case hinder the NFC?

the most annoying part for me was having to set up a lockscreen - i probably should have one anyway though.

Not tried it, but apparently all you have to do is wake the phone (not unlock it) and hold it against the reader.

NFC still works fine through a case on my headphones.

But without that feature its not secure. Shocked

I have used it and its great. Unlock screen (finger print for me) and place near reader, just the same as a contactless card.
No need to launch app or anything.

I'm aware, but I don't lose phones. If I do lose it, someone spending £30 at a petrol station will be the least of my worries.

I almost prefer my own version of android pay which involves keeping my contactless card inside my phone case. Laughing

If you do lose it then you can remotely find your phone and you can ring it, lock it or erase it so that it's of no use to anyone else.

https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3265955?hl=en

Not sure why you wouldn't use the screen lock. Laughing

You must have some very nice friends that don't muck about with your phone, posting stuff, deleting stuff, taking pictures of horrible stuff.

Haven't tried Android pay yet, but my card is just easier and quicker to use.

Android pay doesn't work on rooted phones, does it? I've no NFC so I can't test and it isn't too relevant to me.

Leaving facebook logged in where other people have access to the computer / tablet / phone is inherently risky, especially if alcohol is involved.

Doing something to someone else's facebook is also inherently risky because things have a habit of escalating.

Used android pay for the first time today,
Left my wallet in the car and I saw a vending machine that accepted NFC payments,
Worked through my phone case and no need to launch app

End of thread.

I've used Android Pay since launch. I love it, comes in very handy. Just a shame not all merchants support contactless payment.

I have just discovered having NFC enabled and a premier Inn room keycard slid into your phone case causes it to spaz the error.'NFC read error. try again.'

Suppose I should have expected that but to be honest I had the phone case folded back and didn't have an effing clue what was going on with my phone for a few seconds

I use xposed which it absolutely doesn't work with. I'm not uninstalling xposed just to see if it works even though I have no fingerprint scanner or NFC on this phone.

Nope, it does not work with rooted devices, mine was rooted and it refused to work for this reason. On a non rooted rom it works fine, i've no reason to re-root at present
