The fellow offered it me for £110 + £15 for postage = £125 (this includes Squire SS65C)

First time I've seen an Almax looking different from 'factory condition'.

Series IV 1.5m is £115 without padlock, which I'm assuming the grinder one hasn't got. Add £8 delivery, so £123.

Cheaper to buy a legit one than this one.

Ah. Your assumptions are forgiven.

Slipped me to mention that it includes the Squire SS65C also.

Almax website has them for £168 (inc. delivery)

Effective saving of £43.

How strange!

Regardless, it may be an effective saving, but personally I find my 1.5 the limit of how short I'd want the chain to be. Sometimes I find myself wishing it was a few links longer (that I'd bought the 2.0).

Maybe 1.3 is fine for you but bear it in mind.

I only have the CBF but can't find a great spot to strangle it to. I've located one place with my tape measure. Shows 1.3 metres would be ample to wrap around...with a tape measure. Just need to factor in the actual link sizes of the Almax as they will not be as flexible as the tape. It's like hoping a 5" tall 70-year old arthritis grandmother will fit into the contortionist box that the 5" gymnast can bend to. They both measure up...but will the actuality mirror the hopes?

I have a 1.5 m chain, often wanted it longer. Can shorten by locking to a link mid way through.

If that chain was closer to 80-90 quid it would make sense, but not for that price.

I actually ordered a 1.3 by accident when I bought my series 3 from Almax a couple of years back.

A fella from Almax actually called me before they dispatched it asking if it was for a motorcycle, and if so to change my order to a 1.5 minimum as it would be next to impossible trying to get a 1.3 round a bike tyre or frame and a railing/lamp post etc.

My 1.5 is a pain in the arse to get round both so bollocks to trying it with anything shorter

You might get away with it on the CBF, but if you plan on upgrading to anything bigger the future i'd probably look at paying a little bit more and getting a 1.5m+ one

The 1.5m is just about big enough to get the back wheel of my ZX6R chained around things, but the bike needs to be parked virtually touching the object to stretch the chain around enough a lot of the time.

The 1.5m series IV is quite a bit heavier than that though.

Definitely get the 1.5m chain. It's what I got for my CG125, and as people have said, you can shorten the chain by locking through links mid-way through.

Get a tailpack for it though, like the kreiga one they offer.

The 1.3m one is a waste.

+1 atleast 1.5m... have the same problem as others. The tyre needs to be touching the lamppost to get it round

No chance @ buying a 1.3m Almax.

The seller is only selling it due to it being useless.

If you buy a 2m one then you'll almost certainly never need to buy another chain and padlock. If you buy one that's 1.3m then you'll have to find some other mug to sell it, most likely for less than you paid, and buy a 2m one like you should have done in the first place.
