Pilot road 4's for year round use, I used PR3 in the past too, tbh I've not noticed too much / any difference, I couple of times in really full on rain on A-roads the pr4 "felt" better, but I think it's justin my head...
My mate showed me a pic of a pr4 where 1/2 the tread had come away from the carcus of the tyre, but it looked like a track bike, and I can't find anything else on this happening, so maybe just a one off or even a fake.. anyhow the pilot roads imo are great for commuting and the odd ride out at the weekend ____________________ ybr125 Sold, GSF600 K1 Bandit (For Sale), FJR13000 gen2. |

I looked at getting PR2s but couldn't find any for less than the PR3s that I've got on the ZZR,
I've gotten about 2 years use out of my set plodding 20 miles to and from work each day, my route should be 90% motorway but I often take a bit of a wiggly route to avoid traffic issues / ensure I've gone round some corners.
Still had usable millage in when I got a load of punctures in the rear and the front was squared off so replced with another set. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Ive just stuck a set of Bridgestone T30evo's on the ST1100, very good tyres so far in the 150 miles or so I have used them so far. Gets warm fast, sticky and great in the wet, and they are designed for sports touring, and I have heard 8-9k changes on the pans.
So the Yam should get this or more. ____________________ Carbon closet tart! https://www.bikepics.com/members/r6stuk/02r6/

Angel GT are shit. I did a rear in 2.5k whereas the Diablo Strada's they replaced would last 5-6k.
I'm happy with PR4 ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

Ive seen many a set of PR4's square within 1500miles of motorway use.
If your burning through a rear every 6k then buy cheap tyres. They all go square before they get down to the wear limits anyway. Even with double/triple/etc compounds.
Avon Storm/Pilot Road 1's/ Diablo Strada's can all be had for cheap and will offer similar mileage to the modern stuff. I never found any of them to be lacking in grip either. ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600
