Basically I need some advise on an exhaust for my Suzuki Bandit 600. I have been looking out all over the net but can't seem to find out what I need to do (only just learning the ins and outs to bikes) and what to go for. I'm only looking to spend around £100 but not too much.

I would like something louder than the stock I own now and personally love the look of the stubby exhausts that stick just out from underneath. However I'm also worried about attracting the police and wondered if they care that much about loud exhausts?

Any advise would be great!

Danmoto are in your price range. Check out eBay. What year is your bike? I have arrow zorsts on the street triple without baffles in and never had any issue from the popo. And they are loud.

I've had a look at danmoto before and really like the look of these but am a bit concerned for the noise levels. Also are they easy to remove and fit?

Also and thoughts on this exhaust too?

Slash cut exhausts like those will be really loud. Laughing

Get a race can if you want loud but not ear bleeding offensively loud.

Okay. I thought as much, scrap that idea. Will keep having a look around. For the "slip on" exhausts, I can only assume they are as easy to fit as they sound?

I think that'll depend on how seized the bolts are that you've got to undo in order to attach the link pipe that comes with the race can. Razz

+2 for Danmoto in that price range

I recently bought the Titanuim GP cans for my Blackbird. Whatever you do, buy the baffle as an extra. It is quite loud with it, not had any bother with the police either.

Did you buy it direct from the danmoto website and buy baffles separately? If so did you pay duty tax?

Fitted a scorpion to my B6, maybe a little out of your price range but still think you can get a brand new one for about £200.

It was a fair while ago but IIRC it was super easy to fit just undo the hanger bolts and maybe a clip where the end can joins near the collector. There maybe a gasket in the join, if there is reuse it.
The scorpion also was guaranteed that no carb work was needed and it didn't, baffle in or out.

Scorpion sounded great with the easy removable baffle out, really deep tone, much nicer than the sound of the Pipewerx I currently have on my B12.
Never had any attention from Mr. Plod and just screwed baffle back in for MOT Smile

I bought direct and did pay duty. I think they were about £140 for the exhaust and £5 each for the baffles. Think it worked out just under £200 in total with duty. They weren't the cheapest ones they do, plus I needed 2 of them!

I have kept the standard exhaust, don't think it will pass the Castle Combe noise limit...

It is pretty much a stand off between this and this.

Opinions?

The twin ends look guff. I have the other one linked. It's loud with baffles. I HAVE to wear ear plugs and feel like an ASBO is on it's way when I don't wear them. But a couple of my friends say they think it's fine.

I went and bought the twin ended exhaust. Looks too good not to get! Fingers crossed they will be good, got the baffles with it too!

Thanks everyone for the solid advice.

If it's just more noise your after, and your not bothered about looks or personalising the bike, then what sort of condition is the std stainless silencer in?

You can doctor a few OEM cans to make them louder or drill out the hole for the baffle to make it noisier, sometimes without having to cut open and re-weld the silencer afterwards.
