IIRC the rules changed a few years ago to make it harder for people to ignore these charges, do I pay it and STFU or is there a decent chance of contesting the charge?

(It's my wife's car, I was actually the driver at the time - I arrived in the car park at 16:12, got the ticket at 16:15 for three hours (typed reg number into the ticket machine) - I returned to the car around 19:10 just before it expired - I then drove to the other side of the car park and waited for my wife who was walking down - my thinking was that if a parking warden came around I could easily move* - we then departed the car park at 19:45 - so the ANPR system saw the car arrive and leave and knows the ticket I bought wasn't for a sufficient amount of time)

What do?

*I didn't realise it was an ANPR system at this moment.

PePiPoo and/or ParkingCowboys for this one.

Just be wary about any Freementalism.

Off the top of my head, I'd be minded to have your wife rat you out.

Chances are that the footpads will ignore it and continue to pursue her, but won't therefore be able to collect.
