Advice please.....

Mod 2 training to start in July but bimbling round on a 125 at the moment. I encounter a lot of speed cushion/bumps on part of my commute. At certain points there are 3 across the road (one in each land and one in the central chevron area) so naturally I go between humps 1&2 which is near middle of road, but when there are only 2 (one each lane) do you go left or right of the hump if nothing is coming the other way? If something is coming the other way, I go left (with a lifesaver first) otherwise too close to oncoming vehicle, but what are examiners expecting me to do on mod 2 in these circumstances with 2 humps and empty road - go in the middle presumably?

Thanks Smile

If it is safe to do so, you can go around the speed bump.

Sounds correct. Ask your A2 instructor though, they'll know what the local examiners like to see on the likely test routes.

Did my mod 2 not long ago, i dont think it matters which you use as long as its safe, id say stick to the left side unless you cant, then you have less of a chance of encountering any arseholes flying towards you. Just remember, be safe! Good luck!

I'd go to the right side, if it was safe to do so. Going to the left virtually has you in the gutter where all the crap ends up.

Incidentally, in the IoM, you are expected to ride over them and will get marked down for not doing so. They have some funny ways over there.

A thousand times this. Go right unless unsafe to do so because of oncoming vehicles

Thanks all Smile I will go right unless not safe due to oncoming traffic, and then go over if necessary, but will check with my instructor during my mod training next month...... As I'm still on l plates, I'm trying to keep to the correct way of riding as expected in mod tests so it's more natural rather than trying to remember what I should do.........

the "correct" thing to do is jump them. Handful of throttle just as you approach then do a sort of bunny hop as the front wheel touches the start of the speed bump

examiner will pass you due to badman skilz and 0fucks given attitude

Well, demonstrate confidence. Going right shows that. Wink

In your test you can go right, left or over. All are fine/legal/correct. As above though, overall control of the bike is what matters
