I have recently somehow been given 17,000 new contacts in my Outlook.com (Hotmail) account.

I have no idea how it happened, or where they have come from, but I don't know them and more importantly want them.

Is there any way to sort by added and choose delete, or any other way of removing them, as I can't realistically just remove 17,000 contacts manually.

Oh and the main reason I dont want them, is because loading and using Outlook is a pain as it grinds my browser to a standstill, then keeps doing this every few mins, until I have to quit the browser and start again.

I can't get to that, mine goes to people.live.com and there's no selection there like that.

This happens even when I type the outlook.live.com address in, it just redirects me.

It's ok, i have figured out a workaround (of sorts).

I have saved all 17,400 to a csv file and will use that to find anyones details that I need in future.

I am in the process of selecting all and deleting them, it's done 80 so far and locked up my broswer.

I was just thinking that a few weeks ago, I had to change my password due to suspicious logins. Maybe this was a result of that.
I imagine that a spammer got in and loaded in a spam.csv into my contacts.

I probably didn't notice until a while afterwards that I had so many, so never linked the two.

I'd have thought you'd be a bit busy deleting you 'unwanted' contacts? Besides, it's raining, and I wouldn't want my bike to rust to dust, what with it being chinese & all that Laughing

You should also change the password anywhere that you've used the same password as your hotmail account.

All of my passwords are specific to the site/app they are for.
