Would like to get a bit of instruction before i start pulling the plastics off. I know the seat hooks in at the front but i cant work out how to get at the screws that hold it place

Any ideas? Thanks

Scratch that, your were right. Theres a key just above the left passenger peg, which i didnt even know was there. I turned that and the seat came straight off

You can tell im new to sports bikes Laughing

Yeah it doubles as the helmet lock on a cat.

i looked for ages trying to work this out when i got mine. kept trying to put the key in the part sticking out of the left hand side panel

Glad that im not the only one, i was about to take the side fairings off to gain access to some bolts which i now know dont exist... FAIL!! Rolling Eyes

In my defence though this is my first sports bike, ive just got used to simpler bikes where everything is bolted on somehow

And it's not a daft question. I was looking for the keyhole to remove a CBR600F seat when the owner sheepishly admitted that it requires panel removal and unbolting. <do-not-want.gif>

on doovys old CBR, it just comes off on it's own - halfway down the strip at santa pod Shocked

downpipes or link pipe/can?

i have a standard 5EB (gen1 R6) exhaust and link pipe knocking about that you'd be welcome to tinker with to find out Thumbs Up

Both really. Especially If its a bolt on can, if its one with a bracket then more likely it's universal? I guess the question is more weather the link pipe is the same

Check header bolts first. If the pipes are sill the standard steel rot-like-a-cbf type then just get a set of stainless asap.

Headers are held on by nuts on studs and are a fucker if they are rotten.
