Hey guys n gals!

Okay so this is the situation, i have a 2001 Aprilia Rx 50 Enduro, all fully road legal, but this is the catch i can only get 25 mph at a push from her.
How would i go about getting more power to the wheels? I don't want a lot more say about 40 ish. It has a after market exhaust so that front is covered.

Cheers for all help Smile

15 years of being "improved". Put it all back to stock.

Well the max you can legally have for a moped is 31mph.....

Odds on you are getting the max you legally can now, given its a 15 year old ped that will have been thrashed and abused for its whole life.

Will most likely need jetting correctly, you'll probably be looking at 45ish mph.

Re-design it to do over 31mph and you'll need to inform the DVLA.
Unless you have at least a provisional motorcycle licence you'll be riding unlicenced and uninsured.

"Moped" registration is all a bit fuzzy. An L1 vehicle can be up to 50cc and 50kph, but the current AM license only allows up to 45kph, so you can have an L1 moped that you can't ride on an AM moped license.

I am fully aware that i will have to inform the DVLA Smile
and i have my Category A1 licence. the only reason i have a 50cc is because of funds i have available Smile

The bike in total has cost me £300. £150 in parts and £150 for the bike and i didn't even have to go far for it ( Travel wise )

Somebody forgot to remove the restrictor cone/washer from the aftermarket exhaust & re-jet the carb didn't they Thumbs Up Laughing

The exhaust came with the bike, so i will have a look at it. as for the re-jetting i will get a book and learn how to do it.

The whole mechanical side of things i still have a lot to learn, I'm more into the electrical side, when i got the bike, i had to build a entire loom from scratch because the original was shot Smile

You wouldn't believe how many sixteen year olds come here desperate to make their 'ped go faster without a clue as to the legalities.

Can we get rid if Steve Mcqueen please?

I always though the bloke was a legend and really cool film star, but reading his posts lately on BCF I'm starting to think what a complete cunt he is is!
