Right, I am quite supremely pissed off.
I am still having trouble with cold hands. I got some brush guards, but they didn't help. I just spent the best part of two weeks working on them with aluminium mesh and fibreglass, moulding them into 'dumbo ears' more like the guards you get on a beemer. Took me ages and silly me, I didn't test them before the 5 layers of primer and 2 top coats went on Anyway, they may as well not be there
Just to recap, the ambient temperature was 5*C. My speed never went above 50mph. I was wearing a Millets thermal base layer (long johns and sleeves) a cashmere knit jumper, a fleece, a double thermal lined cordura bike jacket with matching lined trousers, waterproof fleece lined biking boots, Alutherm and Gore-Tex lined leather inner gloves with a neoprene inner cuff...and my lid with a Foggy mask. I even ate a massive bowl of porridge and four slices of toast! What more can I do?
So, what have I not done above? What else can I try? I can't afford a car, or to leave the country. Does anyone think my bike could handle heated clothing of any variety (I mean with the current drain on a CB125T?) By the way I'm not talking chilly fingers here, I'm talking hand on fire with pain keep slipping off the throttle kinds of cold.

Yeah, I'm thinking 'heated' things are my only option. I'll post the question about the current drain in the workshop section |

Or stop being a pussy and get used to the cold weather, it happens. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. The exhaust is a fantastic hand warmer, tried and tested! ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Those 'brush guards on BMW don't do shit to keep your hands warm, the reason BM riders ride around with a smug look on their faces in sub zero weather is that they have 2 stage heated grips. I know I am one of them.
However when you feel your fingers start to get cold wiggle them to get the circulation going and warmer blood into your finger tips.
Also Mittens keep your hands warmer far better than normal gloves as your pinkies are together keeping each other warm.
Mighrt be worth trying silk gloves underneath your normal gloves to build up the layers, or a set of heated under gloves.
Or Muffs. ____________________ Andy Sez....

I wear thick gloves and woolen gloves underneath and that doesn't do much my hands still get practically frozen lol. Its these cold wintery days we are having. Was meant to be the coldest week of the year wasn't it? ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S
