Hi guys and gals.

My Michelin 2ct need replacing. Not sure what advances have been made since these were recommended to me, if any? Had Pirrelli Diablo Corso II before which I liked a lot. Mainly get road use, but have been known to enjoy a track day here and there, so dual compound probably best way to go?

Any advice/recommendations/personal experiences much appreciated.

Thanks!
Matt

Yeah, I looked at the Metzler RR and the Rosso III just before I asked as I realised how out of touch I am with all this stuff!

Just go with the 2CTs again. Dual compound, excellent tyres, why change what you know works?

Other than that, the Pilot Power 3s are getting good reviews. longer lasting than the 2CT and better wet grip. They look like a great compromise between the 2CT and a PR3. I'm going to give them a go next time I need a set of tyres.

Just got a set of BT16s for £150 for my old Gixxer - they may be old hat but they are better than I'll ever be...

I forget what came on the bike from the factory, but pretty sure they were Bridgstone - hated them. I didn't like the way they felt, like the bike was dropping into corners. They were changed after very little use for the 2ct.

That's what I like about Bridgestones - I always get them and love the way the bike drops in... Its what you get used to, I suppose...

Metzeler M7RR is my personal favourite. Good enough in the wet, amazing in the dry.

Was about to suggest Bridgestone Battlax S20 Evos, went through two sets over 14k miles onmy GSXR 750, sticky as hell in dry and wet. Recently switched to T30 Evos, good grip wet and dry not as sticky as S20s but last longer.

I have T30 Bridgestones on my bike (XJ6N) and love them, In fact we love them so much at the yard most of our big bikes are running them. The one that isnt is a new bike but when they need replacing it'll be the T30

Perhaps I didn't give them enough of a chance, but I really didn't like the way it did make the bike drop in. I prefer slightly more progressive feel.

Do these have the same characteristic of the aggressive drop in?

The owner at the garage suggested Metzler RR. I'll have a butchers as he didn't mention M7RR specifically.

thanks

Sorry wrong name.
https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&typ=1430000&partner=1&m_s=1&ID=froogle&s_kwcid=AL!432!3!95146722784!!!g!112599127155!

Ive never tried the front. However the rear, I would describe it as having a reasonably sporty profile and lots of tread.

Those Pirellis ^^^ are cheap. They also don't perform particularly well in any situation.

Review here - https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Pirelli/Diablo.htm

If you don't need to skimp on tyres then you don't need a pair of budget Diablos.

For clarity

Diablo Strada > Diablo Rosso > Diablo Rosso Corsa > Diablo Supercorsas

I can't see the Stradas on Pirellis website, are they old models?

I'm currently leaning Pilot Power 3 or Rosso III

Or you could run Metzeler M7RR's and get both knee's down and peel some rubber (all road riding) Wink
