8-10th of July 3 friends and I are wanting to do a bit of riding and camping somewhere in the UK as a bit of a practice run for heading to Transylvania in August.

We are all in the Surrey area, looking for ideas of where to go, where would you go from here and why?

A favourite stop of mine is Erwlon campsite at Llandovery in Wales, on the A40. You have access to some very nice riding from there, and the West End cafe on your doorstep for breakfast and evening meals.

Off the top of my head...

'Gwern gof uchaf' campsite at the base of Tryfan in Snowdonia. Lovely views and awesome roads all around. Seriously stunning campsite.

Elan Valley campsite. Roads round there are awesome and still only a few hours from North Wales or the Brecon Beacons

Gower (3 cliffs bay has a good campsite with brilliant views, roads seem ok),

Coften country holidays (near Exeter) has an indoor and outdoor pool, bar ect.. and roads seemed ok,

A few good sites on the Jurassic coast, Peak District has good roads, Lake District also (a good site near Skafel Pike and Wasdale),

North Coast of Cornwall, road to St Ives seemed like a good one to be on a bike. Mad views seemed almost like a mini North Wales on the terrain.

Round near me in the Cotswolds there are some nice sites near pubs on the Thames. Lechlade has a couple, Radcot also off the top of my head.

Cant beat North Wales imo for the views (havent been to Scotland yet though).

Loads out there!

A64 to Whitby through the Yorkshire Moors.
I've only towed a caravan through them on the back of the truck, but my gosh I'd love to take a bike along there.

Lovely camp sites all around, amazing roads, and great views.

We're going camping to Cornwall, Polzeath, early September, here

Looks pretty and is near the beach and village but hopefully not full of family types, ugh.

Got Sunday lunch booked at Rick Stein's too.

Is that offer open to me and what facilities does your garden have?

If you want.

I also remember using a torch to make shadows with my willy. We should do that together.

OP, where did you go?

If it were me, from Surrey I would have gone Forest Of Dean or somewhere South West.
