Hi peeps

Shopping around for a jacket for the good lady wife, an as-new one has appeared locally for a decent price. Anyone got any experience with Spada textiles at all? I know they seem to be more of a budget range, if she stick with biking then we can worry about better gear. How's the sizing accuracy, is a 10 a 10 , or really an 8 or 12?

I've not load bought one , really surprised now good it is , I got it as a stop gap and keep using it .
My girlfriend bought one , plenty of armour , fits well size 12 and she's happy with it and that says a lot as she's a miserable cow lately .
If it's cheap enough worth a punt .

My wife wears Spada and has been really pleased with it. The kit is impressively specced for the money and doesn't seem to leak.

She gets a bit cold out on the bike but then she feels cold a lot anyway so I wouldn't read too much into that.

Above post refers to the Macna Lily Jacket and entry-level trousers by the way, bought in 2013.

Went to the independent I use today and was looking at Spada gear. Looks nice and seems reasonably priced but beyond that I have nothing to add. Can't say I'd be tempted though just because RST stuff isn't all that far off in price and has worked well for me in everything I've purchased from them thus far.

I'd take the wife on a trip to a Spada dealer and try zed jacket on to ensure correct size before ordering online or buying locally for cheaper.

The only Spada gear I would definitely avoid are the boots. Very poorly made. Jackets and gloves I've had good experiences with. Can't remember what their sizing is like, but think it was pretty "normal" on the whole.

My Spada dolomite jacket had a few loose threads etc. but its held up really well. Had it 3 years, still looks new, doesn't stink (I've never washed it) and it dries fairly quickly when it gets wet. Sizing seems 'normal' Smile

Edit: actually one zip on a pocket has gone, but that's it.

My missus has a pair of Spada troosers. Very good, and they seem to be sized about right.

Yeah it's entry level stuff and has the n00b look, being pushed hard by Infinity when any novice starts asking questions - but the Macna jackets, especially the ones from 3-4 years ago, are actually tough and versatile. Mine's now a few years old and has had all kinds of punishment - several crashes, one pretty bad, a BCF bbq, and probably close on 75k miles. Aside from the fairly decent toughness they're pretty damn warm too - the removable lining is snug, and the armour seems fairly effective. They aren't exactly awesome in the rain, but they're not dire either.

Thinking about it, bikes, boots, lids, trousers, and gloves have all come and gone but that bloody jacket is still in service and showing no real signs of giving up yet.

Bit late to the party but owned 3 spada jackets, 1 pair of gloves, and 1 pair of boots.
All were an acceptable price, the gloves were average, the boots were fucking awful and ended up binned.

The first 2 jackets were amazing for the budget price, lasted 2 years each daily use and decent weatherproof, the 3rd jacket for some reason they changed the shoulderpad location and i had to take the pads out, ended up using the jacket 3 times only.

I would have taken her to McDonalds too, but I'd already spent ten quid on her Smile

+1. The Spada boots I had were utter shite; leaked and fell to pieces after barely being used.

Had some of their gloves for a few years though and they were really good.

Bought myself a pair of these Spada trousers online today: https://www.spadaclothing.co.uk/productdetail.php?subcat=10&cat=2&product=1359&productname=Duo%20Tech%20Trousers%20Short%20Leg

Thought they looked good for £100 and need some waterproof armoured trousers after having to wear my kevlar jeans with waterproof overs on in this recent hot and wet weather we've had.

I was so soaked with sweat underneath that I might as well have just got rained on and not felt as hot....
