Would a bike fail an MOT if the colour of the panels doesn't match the registration/V5 ?

some numpty(me) replaced the panels with black ones and has not yet updated the v5 registration accordingly. It used to be blue.

Nope, not part of the test, but it might cause the tester to look a bit harder at everything else.

Never been asked to supply a V5 at an MOT, so the tester wouldn't know the colour any way.
My old CBR600 was purple, pink, silver, gun metal, and black as standard, can't remember what colour the log book said.

My last Fazer was painted yellow by Dream Machine when new. The original selling dealer (or Yamaha, who apparently commissioned the paint job) forgot to change the colour on the v5, so I know it was originally a red bike. Had no problems with MOTs or anything else. I did actually declare the colour change to my insurance once, but never got around to changing the v5.

It tells us when we book the test on to the system what colour it was registered as, this can then be changed however so the mot record reflects the colour of the vehicle tested.

It probably said "Multi" on your CBR log book

My CBR changed colour before I got it,
V5 was never updated.
At one MOT the guy said the bike did not match the registered color and he could sort it whilst he did the V5.
Got tugged by a police motorcyclist several months later and he commented the colors did not match the V5 and this needs to be updated however no mention of any ramifications then and there...

I repainted a blue CBR600 to red, and sent the v5 off. The day I sent it off to be updated, I was stopped by police. Their reason was mismatched colour from what their computer was saying, so wanted to check frame numbers matched with the number plate etc, to make sure it wasn't be using on fake plates.

At the last MOT test I was asked if the bike had been resprayed as it was listed as red.

Er, no, that's original Triumph Nuclear Red.

If you just changed the tank (on a naked bike) would it be considered a colour change?

Think my VFR one says 'Multi' to? so presume i can have it whatever colour i want? Lad at work had loads of trouble with a GSXR400 getting cloned and someone getting a speeding ticket on the fake one, which was a different colour, but your speeding photo is in black and white, think he ended up getting his Q plated in the end...

mine had been red, at MOT it just got put through as a red bike and first time the MOT tester told me what he'd done. (looked it up on the system first then agreed with it)

Seller told me it had been red so I was already aware
